Months ago, I wrote a post, a letter of apology on behalf of the Christians that participated in the massive worship rallies led by Sean Feucht. At that time, I was attending a church that I had recently discovered and had, for the first time in years, felt God’s presence and His love in abundance at. But the pastor and the congregation were a big part of this rally. I had a few conversations with the pastor who patiently discussed this with me for hours. In these discussions, politics, of course arose, and I also found out that they were Trump supporters as well, the kind that believed in prophesy that Trump would be the president and probably in voter fraud as well.
I tried to go back and worship once, but the damage was done. I felt offense. Although I loved them (well, what I felt like was love, I missed them and felt sad to leave), I couldn’t bring myself to go back. I now felt a wall in my heart preventing me from being a part of their worship and their messages.
Although I was upset having to leave, I thought, we just don’t align on this and so I guess I’ll have to…
