5 Things God Does When We Cry Out to Him

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.”

‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭40:1–3)

Are you in a pit or a miry bog? Whatever a miry bog is, I know I’ve been there and I know for sure that I’ve been in a pit of destruction.

When we cry to Jesus:

#1. He hears us

#2. He lifts us

#3. He secures us

#4. He gifts us with new reasons to celebrate

#5. He uses us to reach others

Often times when in these miry places, we go to Google, our friends, and self-help tools. We go to ourselves to try and work out the problem. We cry to and for ourselves. But are we crying out to God?

God wants us to pour out our hearts to Him. Even if you don’t see answers, even when it feels hopeless, believe He hears and believe He will answer & get ready for some new tunes because He who called us is faithful.
